Can you believe it’s already almost March?! This month went faster than I expected it too and DANG, there was some powerful releasing and healing happening.
Whenever we are going through major releasing and transformation, it’s important not to neglect holding more space for ourselves, showing up with more self compassion and self love. I wanted to share 14 ideas for you to to have for this going into March because with practice and intention, this will get easier and easier to do, and you will be creating a vibration that is acceptive for more healing and opportunity!
1.Utilize the Ho’oponopono Prayer. This ancient Hawaiian practice of forgiveness functions as both a communication concept for reconciliation and a tool for restoring self-love and balance. It can also work sort of like a mantra for self-love. Repeat to yourself: “I am sorry. Please forgive me. Thank you. I love you.” With regular practice, reciting this prayer helps develop self-love and self-esteem at the times when we need it most.
2. PLAY! Truly, I believe a word women need to hear more often, especially mamas with littles. Connecting with your child like self to get in fun, be adventurous, create something, be spontaneous! For me, this often looks like painting, jamming to music, playing a game. This is your opportunity to nurture a part of you!
3.Hug yourself! Sit or stand up tall, reach the crown of your head to the sky, release your shoulders and open your heart. Take in a big deep breath and throw open your arms and open them wide, then wrap them around yourself from side to side. Grab your own shoulders and tuck your chin towards your chest – and give yourself a full-on hug. Then, open your arms wide with your next big deep breath and start again.
4. Practice gratitude. This helps your focus shift from what is “wrong” and redirects it to what is “amazing” and the possibilities. Reflect on your own talents, accomplishments, and beauty today! 5. Stand up and sit up tall. Take up more space! Studies actually show that correcting our posture does actually give us more confidence in our own thoughts.
6. Do a couple minutes of meditation each day. Sure you could do 60 minutes and get all zen but I have a feeling that amount of time is hard to come by for you – a few minutes is a great start! We live in a world where stress and chaos are the norm. Not only can meditation train you to become more aware of your inner self, but it will also help you learn to let go of obsessive thoughts. I recommend the Headspace and Calm apps for this.
7. Dress in something besides leggings and sweats. I said what I said. Sure, I love this BUT when I do get dressed in a more cutesy, form fitting outfit, do my hair and that 5 minute make up look- WATCH OUT WORLD. Try it, it is so great for a confidence boost and some nurturing time.
8. Try EFT. Emotional Freedom Technique, or EFT, is an alternative treatment for emotional distress and physical pain. It is a therapeutic psychological tool that is often referred to as “tapping”. It focuses on the meridian points (energy hot spots used in Traditional Chinese Medicine) in the body to restore energy balance. Restoration of energy balance relieves symptoms of negative experiences and the associated emotions. A great place to find easy to use tapping exercises is The Tapping Solution App
9. Use aromatherapy! I especially love using aromatherapy when I need to give myself a bit of self love. My favorite oils to use are the feelings kit, surrender, release and valor! I have them all linked here.
10. Take a hot Epsom salt bath. Baths are seriously my love language- whenever I need to feel more warm and held, I love to do one. So this happens typically a few days a week! Here’s a few detox tips.
