Hi Guys. This is Lindsay, your host for the Untethered with Lindsay Tuttle NP podcast, where we go deep on truly becoming untethered in your life and health and experiencing exponential freedom. We have the radical and uncensored conversations you have been craving and give you the tools for expansion and growth. I’m so glad that you are here and I can’t wait to connect with you.
Hey friends. I am back for part two of this podcast episode that is highlighting my story. I actually had put it in my show notes as Beauty from Ashes because that’s what it feels like, and I bet in some way you can resonate with that or just relate to that with an experience that you have gone through, you have overcome. And so in our first episode, I was really just sharing a bit of my story, a little bit of how I got to this place that I’m at today. Just some of the things that I was experiencing with my health that left me in a place of despair and feeling like there was no way that I could get better.
And if you haven’t listened to the episode yet, make sure to go back and do that because definitely there’s so much that leads up to the point of hitting rock bottom and knowing that you have to change course, you have to change trajectory, you have to reroute, to be able to get to where you’re supposed to be, where you’ve always been purposed to be. And I truly believe that all the health experiences and health challenges that I went through, truly were to help me reroute to where I was supposed to be, help resolving these different traumas that I experienced and helping me reclaim all organic parts of myself.
And honestly, guys like that is what healing means to me, right? Because we’re always healing, like healing is us. And so I think health gets thrown around as just some word of what we’d like to experience and like to be. And there’s a difference of actually healing in, in the way that it’s really used in the health community of, you know, like what else can you do for your healing? Then there’s actual embodying healing because we are a self-healing mechanism. It is a part of you. So if you believe that you are always lacking and there’s some other things that you need to do forever, just to to be experiencing your best health, that is where you are disconnected to the self-healing being and organism that you are, your giftings.
And so with this episode, I really wanted to be able to share what helped create a shift for me. And I kind of left you guys hanging in that first episode. And you know, it’s funny that I wound up getting to this place. I mean, I’m saying funny, like it definitely wasn’t funny when it sucked, but it’s, it’s interesting how you have to learn the lessons, right? Like, I am so stubborn, I have no problem saying that, you know, it just, I, it takes me a little while to get to something and I’m, I’m totally a verbal processor. So I really like unpack things through conversation, uh, being able to have the dialogue.
And I think, you know, for so long I wore it as a badge of honor that I, you know, I had this background in health. I knew how to fix health issues, uh, and I never addressed any of the emotional or spiritual components. And I was afraid to do so. I was afraid to even go that route because, honestly, I, I feel like I wore as a badge of honor for so long. The fact that I never cried. I remember saying that to people all the time. Like, I don’t cry. I never cry. That’s not my thing. Nothing makes me cry. And there’s a really great quote, and I, I don’t remember who says it, but it, it just says, you know, the body weeps what our physical tears don’t. You know, whatever we, we don’t release and, and cry out in a sense, the body takes in. And, you know, we, we put so much focus on brain health and it’s, we also have to focus on what’s going on with the heart. You know, what is the heart that inner child really looking to feel and heal and experience.
And so, such a big aspect for my healing journey was understanding that I could no longer stay on the trajectory and do the things that I was doing because I was not getting any changed results, right. Like, to be a little bit pretentious, I mean, that’s like the, the definition of stupidity, right? Where you’re just like continuing to do the same thing and expect different results. And that’s what happens when we are on this merry-go-round when it comes to our health. Where we’re like, well, I’ll just keep on throwing 20 things at this, change up my supplements, go to a different doctor, and we act like it’s different than Western medicine. Honestly, this is the biggest thing that I see literally within the holistic health community that is no freaking different than the Western medicine community.
We go from doctor to doctor, functional medicine to naturopath, to this treatment, to that therapy. Then they, you know, then we are like going to supplement to supplement, you know, which is like, how is this any different than being in a Western medicine paradigm? Like truly, how is it any different? And granted, you know, I take supplements, I do, holistic therapy. So I’m not shutting this down like this is, this is a lot of my work. What I am saying is just noticing the disconnection from self and how our just default is, you know, what else do I need to be doing? Which is a hundred percent a program that we have been conditioned from or conditioned with from birth is that we’re missing something and that we need help and we need outside influence to tell us how we feel.
The real assault is on our own body and our own connection to self. And unfortunately, I see a lot of times this gets really twisted from a religious perspective where it’s like, well, you, you know, don’t self-love or you know, be just, I guess like what I observe is just this movement against self-love and self-care when truly, when we are connected to God and your source and however that looks like for you, like that is something that you embody because you were created to embody that.
And so, anyways, I’m, I’m kind of getting off on a tangent. I’m going to, I’m going to hone it in. It’s funny, before I started this episode, I’m like, I could write notes, but I, I’m like, eh, you know, I, I prefer to be like loosey goosey here. And you know what, like, I hope that what you get from this podcast is that we are literally sitting face to face. You know, this is not a professional setup, guys. I am sitting in my office. I am just, you know, I’m doing the whole work from home. Goodness look of, uh, it, it’s so hilarious. ’cause you know, you’ve done this on a Zoom. I’m, I’m recording this on Zoom, so I’ve got like a great top on, but then I’ve got just like gym shorts. I mean, this is, this is how we roll.
So, nothing fancy here. We’re just chatting. So I wanted to go back to my story and what I started realizing needed to shift. And I feel very fortunate that when I was really just dealing with debilitating pain and I started dealing with debilitating fatigue, I was fortunate to have friends who had started doing some nervous system regulation work, and they had started to utilize what’s known as brain retraining. And I remember thinking at the time, this seems way too easy to work. Okay, so that was limited belief, number one. Number one on like the Wheel of Fortune, right? Uh, that was something that I held was that healing needed to be difficult.
And I believe that many of us are walking around with that story, that healing has to look like 20,000 things. And this is what gets proposed to us from social media. When here’s your list of all the things that you could be doing when it’s like, gosh, if you just effing went outside, I still need to learn like, how much can I cuss on this podcast, right? If you just went outside for most of your day, you know, check off the list so much that you are biohacking with, you know, so. All this to say, you know, we’re, we’re tired of the endless lists, the unrealistic lists that nobody, unless they’re a hermit, could really do, right?
So, I started learning about brain retraining nervous system work, and I got introduced to a program called DNRS, which stands for a dynamic neural retraining system. It was created by Annie Hopper. I have never met Annie Hopper. I’ve never gone to any of the live DNRS programs, but I started doing the DNRS and it was literally, I kid you not, within 24 hours, I started seeing a difference in symptoms for my body. I knew, I just knew that was the missing link for me.
It was like nothing I had ever tried over the years had made an impact, right? Like we’re talking, shelling out all these funds and um, you know, needing support and help and all of that. And I did the brain retraining and I noticed a difference in a day. I was just like, what is going on here? And I really started learning more about nervous system regulation work, which is, uh, fortunately becoming, uh, more and more people are becoming aware of it, which I’m so, so glad because this really is a game changer. I see it as the foundation of a house. If you are building a house and you’re throwing up all the drywall and all the cabinets, and you literally have not set a foundation, what the hell are you doing? You know, like you’re wasting a lot of time, money, and energy.
And this is what we do all the time within the natural health world. You know, we, we throw all the biohacks. Uh, you know, I, I love all these like guy accounts on Instagram where they have like 20 gadgets and tools and then they show their supplement cocktail. No, I’m not talking about anyone in particular. I’m saying this is like something I see across the board. And it’s like how is that realistic whatsoever? And also I’m just curious, like the nervous system regulation and maybe it’s there like this is in no way trying to come off judgmental, I’m just saying that the foundation of nervous system regulation has to be there. It’s the foundation of the house.
And so I started doing this work and, uh, you know, I’m, I’m, I can’t totally unpack all of what DNRS and nervous system retraining is. Essentially, in a nutshell, you are looking to create new patterns and starting to, in a, in a sense, create a new reality, for your being and body. This is so important because 95%, at least 95% of the things that you’re thinking and acting out on a day-to-day basis actually come from the subconscious. So this is where a lot of challenges come up for so many because they tell me, I’ve done everything to heal. I’m doing this. This is my mindset. Or they say the same when it comes to wealth, because I work with a lot of clients one-on-one, on expanding their wealth and their income and their abundance.
And they tell me all these things they’re doing and they’re like, why am I not seeing a change? Well, ’cause it has absolutely nothing to do with your productivity levels. It has nothing to do with how efficient you are. It has everything to do with; what are the stories of your subconscious? ‘Cause you will vibrationally match to whatever those stories are. The stories of the subconscious are what will direct the energy and matter of the body. Your body is 99.999% energy and only 0.001% matter. So, where you are able to direct the energy is where the matter will flow.
And so it’s so important to keep in mind that when we are what, what like consumes our energy, right? What are we inputting? What are the thoughts that you carry out on a day-to-day basis? Because that is going to determine your results. And it’s almost entirely subconscious. And the subconscious stories are things that we started to accumulate in childhood. This is when your nervous system is forming. This is when your vagus nerve is forming and this is when you start to gain neuroception. So this is your internal surveillance system of how you take in what is going on around you. And this is a survival mechanism because our body is fucking brilliant and wants to be able to protect us, right?
So the thing is, this surveillance system is in place so that we are able to survive, right? Like, so this neuroception is created based off of our experiences. And so, uh, you know, depending on what you went through when it came to traumas and early childhood, and I, I want to be just really clear with that term, you know. I think a lot of times we associate trauma with very extreme events. That is not what it is, right? Trauma is very much a bio individual, like it’s, it’s a very individual response to a stressor or an event. And, you know, something I’ve highlighted before on my social media and, and what I always highlight with clients is like, you know, we don’t just walk in, like get birthed and come earth side and have an empty cup when it comes to the junk. Between environmental toxins, between chemicals, you know, we have the research to show that right? Umbilical cords that have been tested are riddled with heavy metals and toxicity.
So, so we know that’s a fact, right? But what we also have to keep in mind and understand, is that each person is coming in to the world with a bioaccumulation. A cup that is not just completely empty. It is full to a certain extent, whether that be from traumas, generational components, ancestral traumas, and and what am I talking about here as well? I mean, if you had family members who experienced war and famine, abuse, this is all impacts us generationally. And I want to be really clear, I am not in any way, not a fan of people just blaming genetics because that’s a cop out for you to not take radical responsibility of your health. What I will say is that the thoughts, we know that thoughts impact epigenetics. We know that thoughts and behavior and environmental factors impact what we are predispositioned to getting or any sort of illness.
And so, you know, what’s really important here is to keep in mind with our nervous system that it started before you, and that’s actually the name of a book that I highly recommend reading; “It Started Before You”.
But this, these stories and how we’re operating out of is largely programmed earlier in life. Also there’s an impact of what happens in utero and even generationally before that. That’s something I look at with clients with metaphysical health coaching, metaphysical anatomy, because in my personal experience, I have found that to be a missing link for so many people, and it’s very important to not get missed because just as trauma can be inherited, it can also be reversed. So I see, when we talk about health and healing on this podcast, we’re not just talking about the here and now. I’m just not talking about like you being able to resolve this symptom right now. I’m talking about generational impact. I’m talking about legacy. I’m talking about being able to have your kids experience a different life than you’ve lived, and even, even feel, experience, more freedom, feeling even more untethered.
So this is really important. So, as I’ve mentioned, our nervous system is largely created in early childhood, and as we accumulate different traumas or experiences, this does affect our being, affects our nervous system, it affects our fascia, our our tissues. And so this impacts our organs and our whole cellular being. And so when I started looking at brain retraining work, it was just finally this understanding that, it was literally understanding I held the key. I will tell you guys that was both scary AF and exhilarating, because it was like, dude, I hold the key. And now that I’ve seen the light, I can no longer say that I don’t know. You know what I mean? Like, I can no longer say that. I don’t know what largely has a, a huge impact. Like I can’t plea ignorance, I can’t, you know.
And so, that said, I really wanted to be able to start seeing shifts. I, I felt so sick and so I started incorporating the brain retraining work. Was it challenging? Absolutely. It was brand new. Uh, you know, at the time I would say I had like, you know, we’ve just normalized so much as a society not being able to focus, ADHD. You know, I would definitely have said at the time, like, oh, I can’t focus. My brain is so squirrely. I am like, you know, ADHD, and really that all came from nervous system dysregulation.
And so, it was really hard for me to start doing the work initially because, sitting still and being bored and kind of doing that for, you know, they, that program starts you out where they want you to do an hour a day. I was like, oh my gosh, how am I going to do that? But I also, you know, and when I started doing the work during periods of chronic fatigue, I definitely couldn’t get out of that out of bed. So that was helpful as far as making sure I could do the work.
So, that said, you know, it’s all about building the new patterns. And a lot of people, there’s a lot of programs out there and what I learned really quickly is, it’s in no way a requirement to do that much time. It’s just a matter of, you know, building consistency over time to see change results. If you’ve read the book, Atomic Habits by James Clear, you know. All these things are small habits over time, build exponential results, right? And what we tend to forget is that it’s micro shifts that lead to the big shifts that we see. It’s not breakthroughs. You know, like a lot of people start a lot of treatments and, you know, maybe I, I wouldn’t say this has necessarily been my experience with one-on-one clients, but a lot of people will start these new things and they’re like, well, why didn’t I see X, y, Z happen after one thing, you know? And it’s like, who told you that you are going to experience a, a miracle occurrence after one thing, right? Like if you really want to create a new story within the body, it is going to take time.
And I’m sitting here right now talking to you guys. I, I would say I started brain retraining work about four years ago. Started getting really consistent with it three years ago. And I still have work to do. You know, like, uh, it’s, it’s no way have I arrived, have no way, you know, it’s basically unlearning patterns you’ve had your whole life. So one thing we really have to be dedicated to is not a quick fix and not like, well, I’ll just take another supplement, you know, or I’ll just do another, another thing, you know, so that I don’t have to, you know, I can cut down on the actual time here. There’s no race when it comes to doing this work. You’re not in competition with anybody. This is your own journey. This is your own soul and purpose. You know, it’s like you don’t need permission from anyone. Like this is, this is your life. You get one here to experience right now.
So it’s like, you know, show up, right? So I had started doing DNRS and fortunately, shortly thereafter, well I would say maybe a year or so after I got introduced, some to, somatic work, which I started doing consistently about 18 months ago. And I will say that was an absolute game changer for my body personally. So, um, I’m just wanted to highlight that interface there if you’re not really familiar. Um, with the somatic work, that is just basically a way that you are relating to the body, uh, connecting to the body, bringing awareness to the body. And it’s something that I honestly had no idea how to do or what to do, and had rejected my entire life up until 18 months ago.
So never feel like you’re too late, right? Like, I remember the first time I started doing somatic work, I was like, I am pretty sure I haven’t done this since I was a baby. Like, uh, and there were some exercises with that too. And that’s okay. I want to make sure you know, that is okay. You know, it’s never too late to start. And so I started doing this work and I was just seeing such big shifts within my health. Like it would just, if I was dealing with a flare up or a symptom, it was like I would just feel immensely better, so much quicker.
And I noticed I started building more capacity. I started noticing my thoughts were shifting. I started noticing how I related to things was different. I really want to highlight this here because we get so focused on symptoms and symptom chasing, okay? And this is a big thing that I see where people are like, well, I have all these symptoms. And it all started when; you know. Guys, symptoms are a late sign of disease. Okay? Late. In fact, you know, I, I would venture to say, from what I’ve read and, and research that really symptoms are something that presents typically at least 50% into a disease process. So we got to stop blaming the symptoms, okay? Like, oh, you know, this symptom started back in, you know, a couple years ago, and that’s when everything started getting terrible, right? We have to look beyond the symptoms because the symptoms are just communicators from the body when it’s saying like, hey, hey girl. Hey, like, you have not been listening to me with anything and so I’m going to show you a different way. It’s just an expression of the body. And so we have to remember that too.
So if I’m being honest with you, which is like the point of this podcast, you know. Like, let’s be honest here, let’s, let’s do real talk, you know? I was sick and dealing with dis-ease within my body way before I started seeing symptoms. I know that I spent the majority of my life in a state of being a high achiever, highly sensitive, um, which I know gets equated to being HSP, highly sensitive person, where I always was driven by what I could achieve and get. It was a high for me, it was an adrenaline rush. I had an addiction personality where I had to be addicted to different things, at different times, to get the rush that I needed.
And I also was addicted to burnout, busy and choosing to be in a state of overwhelmed and stress. In fact, I thrived off of it. I thrived off of stress. I thrived off to being last minute. I thrived off of rushing. This is what dominated my life for so long. One of the first things I noticed with somatic experiencing work was that When I was like, like so going so slow to all these different places, I was just like, is something wrong with me? Like, I’m like, why am I going so slow everywhere? Like I honestly was fearful ’cause my body was so conditioned to be in the fast lane and to just like ignore people and just rush through everything and have no boundaries and be in a people pleasing state. I was so conditioned to just, you know, rush through everything. And just that I didn’t even know what it was like to slow down and rest. Like, I remember being like, oh, this is new, this is interesting. Like, wow, I’ve been going like even below the speed limit this entire time. Um, definitely was a new thing for me. I definitely, uh, was a speeder for like my whole twenties,
So that said, that was one of the first experiences that I noticed was a slowing down. I started noticing, and people said it to me, they’re like, wow, like we just notice you’re so much more calm. Like, you know, I, I was, when I’d show up on anything, it was like I was even speaking slower. I was just, you know, there was all these observations. And it was because the internal changes were starting to be expressed on an external level, and that took time. It took integration. And so I’m just mentioning to be consistent with the work. You know, with the DNRS program in particular, they encourage you to be utilizing the program, they say at least a year, and that you might not even see a change for at least a year. Can you imagine? I mean, I saw a change within like 24 hours. Uh, God must have known my patience level at the time because I don’t think I could have waited a year.
But I know people who’ve gone through the brain retraining work and they did not start seeing changes till at least six months in, which I will tell you is inspiring AF to me. Because, um, you know, that is knowing that that is honing in your intuition and just knowing like faith in things you cannot see. I mean, just, it’s, it’s, it’s beautiful for me to witness and I love it. But you know, I will say with the, the brain retraining and somatic work that was my introduction to understanding nervous system regulation work. And then it’s what led me to the work of Mind, Body, Spirit release, which I got introduced to, I would say probably two years ago. And then really more so a year and a half ago.
And then I started, um, my studies, uh, I would say, hmm, a little over a year ago. And that was when I recognized the huge, it was like I had already had this recognition, so I, I, that’s why I wound up starting the work, but just the impact that my emotions were having on my entire being. And where a lot of people can get lost here is this thought that well, you know, I’ll just, you know, hack my way through it and, you know, this is the emotion that, you know, that I am experiencing. And so, but that’s not how Mind, Body, Spirit release works. We’re, we’re looking at a subconscious level, trapped emotions within the body, and even from a generational perspective. I add on a metaphysical perspective of how different emotions are actually showing up as symptoms and the actual tools and exercises that will help you to experience a different reality.
And so I, I just want to make sure I’m clear on, on some of the differences here, because a lot of times people believe that mindset, just straight up conscious mindset work is what will, you know, they can just will themselves into a new reality. When there, there needs to be some sort of, you know, in my experience, some subconscious involvement to really see just a, a different state of being. So that said, you know, with the emotional work, I was really intrigued because as a nurse, you know, we learned this stuff before my starting my education, which is a thousand percent pharmaceutical funded, I learned that with nursing, this is a pillar of nursing is, is looking at, uh, just your, your connection to faith, your, your connection to spirituality. The connection to the emotional, and then yet when you actually start your nursing program, I can guarantee you this is not a question on the NCLEX or any sort of test. They do not ask you these questions. They don’t ask you what you’re holding in, uh, your throat and your gut and, um, the emotions plaguing your, your heart and chest. They don’t ask you those things.
But what I did learn about. And I will tell you is just where there’s a big connection here, and you can look this up, you’re going to be so interested in it, is; I remember learning in school about Takotsubo syndrome and Takotsubo syndrome is when somebody experiences a heart issue. Basically it’s like a, my, uh, cardiomyopathy where the heart is weakened and it is because of grief and it’s also known as broken heart syndrome, and it affects the heart’s ability to pump. And so here’s this like thing I was learning in a textbook, clearly stating emotions and stress have an impact on your physical body.
Now, I don’t know if they still teach about Takotsubo, I don’t feel like any of the, uh, most of the surgeons that I worked with really would reference that. But you know, I will say that there is this huge component that gets ignored and it’s because it’s not profitable. If we really helped people really address the emotional, spiritual roots of illness, then there would be no need for a lot of these pharmaceutical and even these supplement companies, right? Because it’s when we start addressing the emotional and spiritual and metaphysical roots, and I wanna be really clear, like I take supplements, right? And I love my supplements. There’s supplements that I talk about all the time, like there is a time and a place, and there is additional support and nourishment that we benefit from. What I’m saying though is that, you know, with looking at the emotional spiritual connection when we are just ignoring that, we’re really missing such a huge link.
And so I started the Mind, Body, Spirit release work really to be able to support myself and others, and I really, I fell so much in love with it that I just knew like this forever was going to just be a core part of my practice. It’s a core part of my health coaching. It is a core part of everything I offer with all my client containers because I have found it to be absolutely essential. The radical shifts that people see with mind, body, spirit release. I’m, I’m daily, mind blown, and I’m friends with a lot of fellow practitioners and we are always talking about like all the cool things we’re seeing. And that is because when you start actually treating the body and health, not based off of physical, strictly physical, but also on an energetic level is when you start changing things.
This is also pointing to the value of bioenergetics, bio resonance. These are tools that I use. It’s because you know, your body is almost entirely, I mean, it is energy, right? And so if we’re just ignoring, looking at things from a frequency and vibrational level, we’re ignoring the whole picture. So we have to look at that, emotions and thoughts. They all have frequencies. And so when you look at something like a cancer diagnosis, what I got really intrigued with, and I’ll share with you these two books that changed my life years ago was You Can Heal Your Life by Louise Hay, who was somebody who was diagnosed with cancer and largely focuses on the emotional components of cancer. And so that was something that I got introduced to.
And then, um, How To Heal Yourself When No One Else Can can, by Amy sure. And that forever changed my life reading that book because I realize, again, I’m telling you, I realized I held the key. And uh, like I said before, that’s both scary and it’s exhilarating because we only, when we have that awareness, we have no other choice but to start taking radical responsibility. Or we can also acknowledge. We can also acknowledge our element of self-sabotage, the secondary gains of why we’re choosing not to heal, and then we create new patterns and, and we work on that, right? Like that has to be a component of healing, is understanding where you self-sabotage.
So, that said, this all started becoming really important with my own healing journey. And I saw over time just symptoms start to really start fading away and just getting farther apart. And, and like if I had a flare up, uh, you know, it would just not be as intense and not last as long, you know? And so I’m still on that journey. And to be honest, I always want to be incorporating the nervous system regulation work, ’cause now I actually crave it. Like I crave it. I love it. It feels like a way I get to fill my cup.
I actually recently was just hiring someone to help me with some babysitting out of like my normal, uh, client workdays, because I was like, ugh, I just, I crave when I get to do the nervous system work and get to just have a little bit of extra space and time to do things a little bit deeper. And I like to end my day and start my day with it. And so I, I’m so glad that you are here and just, uh, maybe you have experience with nervous system work. Maybe you have experience with mind, body, spirit release, or looking at the emotional and spiritual components. Maybe you don’t, that’s not going to be what we’re talking about in every podcast episode. But I will tell you that was what changed my life. It changed my healing trajectory. It changed what I wanted to be able to do and support people with forever.
So I am just so, so grateful, and I have a few free resources for you on my website, that I want you to check out. I want you to dig into these tools because it’s going to start immersing you in the work, and that is under my resources. If you go to www.lindsaytuttlenp.com, you’re going to find some great resources to be able to plug in between starting to find your calm, between starting to find gratitude, between starting to unlock your inner healer. It is my passion for you to be able to start empowering yourself with these tools.
And then I want to invite you, if you are somebody who likes to be self-paced, uh, I have incredible masterclasses that you can take a look at as well, and a course that I am just wrapping up completion with here over the next couple weeks that you’ll be able to dig in as well. I appreciate that there are containers where people like to have that one-on-one support, but also people who prefer to have self-paced, there’s people who like both. Uh, there’s just a lot of ways that you can connect with this work and I love to overdeliver and give the tools that I know are going to serve you the most.
So I’m excited for you to check that out and what I want to be able to give you and walk away with when you are listening to this is three things. I want you to feel encouraged that it’s not too late for you to start doing this work. And with all the guests that I’m having on this podcast, it, we haven’t arrived. You know, we’re still learning. Uh, I don’t wanna ever be in a spot that I’m not working on myself and claiming all organic parts of myself, because that is a part of how we nourish ourselves and nourish our soul. And so I hope you feel encouraged.
I want you to feel also a sense of possibility and a sense of possibility of what you can be experiencing because we are so used to normalizing symptoms. We’re so used to normalizing, well, I live paycheck to paycheck. We’re so used to normalizing like this is just how it is. We can create a new reality at any time. Anytime. Like your dream life doesn’t have to be like something 20 years from now. You can access living your best life and joy and experience right now. That is not something that’s conditional. It’s something you can experience right now. I’ll tell you guys, you know, I have gone through different phases in life with different experiences in health and where I thought that I was, it was it, you know, like I remember when I was a marathon runner and supposedly in the best shape of my life, um, I thought, you know, great job. And I can tell you this, I was not happy and I was not happy. I was a miserable, irritable person who had a lot of resentment and anger and if I had to go back in time. You know, I don’t regret anything that happens in my life, but you know, it’s just looking back, I thought I had it all and I really had nothing. So I, I want to encourage you of that possibility. So the second thing I want you to get from this is possibility.
The third thing that I want you to be able to take away from this is responsibility, that radical self-responsibility. And not that I am going to be giving you homework, but just like the opportunity that, you know, I, I feel like so many people that I’ve talked to and, and if you know me for any length of time, you know, I’m passionate about freedom. I’m passionate about being untethered, hence the name of this podcast. I want you to alchemize that. I want you to manifest it. But that will always take a level of radical responsibility. It will, you know, like, because the greatest gift that we can give to our kids, is the fact that we are doing the healing work right now, is the fact that we’re embodying, that we are challenging the narrative.
I, I mean, I will say this is one thing that I love about millennials, and I don’t know. I’m not, I am always very intimidated by Gen Z. I always joke around about this with, with my friends, but you know, I, I feel like we are the generations of just questioning and wanting to create a, a new perspective. And you know, I love that about the human spirit. I mean, that is just an innate part of the human spirit to want to create new, to want to require change. And yes, that probably pisses people off at times too. But you know, like this is a radical responsibility.
As you know, if we’re, we can’t complain about all the shit that we’re so tired of seeing without actually taking some initiative ourselves and holding up a mirror, a mirror to be like, okay, this is the stuff that I need to work on. I’m telling you, kids are one of the best mirrors out there. Also, whenever you’re triggered, that is one of the best mirrors out there, ’cause if anything I’ve shared on this podcast, if anything you’re seeing on social media today, anything’s triggering you, like there’s your invitation to hold up the mirror.
And we definitely talk about that in this podcast with upcoming episodes. Like, this is the work, we’re here to do the work. And you know, I hope that something that you get from this podcast, it’s just feeling the connection with the community. And I, I have so many ideas with this. I really feel like it takes a village and people are always telling me all the time, we don’t have a village. We need our village. I hope to inspire and to support a space where we’re a village supporting one another, learning together, growing together, and we can have different opinions and do that.
So anyways, I’m stoked for you to be here. I’m stoked for you to be listening in. I so appreciate you getting to hear, and, and take a listen to my story. And also just know that there is hope and there is possibility and that you can be experiencing a different life. You know, I used to have, you know, could fill up a list of so long of symptoms and to see where I’m at now, today, the life that I get to experience and, and that I’m still like growing into and overcoming fear to jump into is just beautiful, and I want that for every one of you.
So thanks for listening, friends. I’m so glad you’re here. I can’t wait to be able to chat with you next week on our next episode. I’ll see you later.
