Ok, who else is a marshmallow fan? I know this time of the year can make us think of Peeps but I’m not talking that garbage (I’m SO biased!). I’m talking the real stuff! The stuff you love at campfires and bonfires. And the reality is those store bought marshmallows tend to have a ton of ingredients and fake sugars you don’t need. The good news? You can make your own marshmallows at home that are minimal ingredients, truly gut supportive and super yummy! The recipe I am about to share is SO easy, and these marshmallows never last long at my house!
Bloom your gelatin in your water. Add to stove top on low heat, stirring in your syrup, molasses, and spices. Add to mixer, starting on low setting then increasing in speed. You will want to mix for 10 to 15 minutes or until soft peaks form. Pour into glass dish and refrigerate for 60 minutes. Slice or grab by the hand and eat!
Gelatin is rich in glycine, which is an amino acid that helps build proteins needed for tissue and hormone maintenance. Glycine also helps rebuild tissue that lines the digestive tract, and protects against chemical and stress induced ulcers.
